Roller shells are surface-hardened up to 58-62 HRC,

Hardening depth is 1.2-1.5 for 20CrMnTi,

How long can one set of shell work?

This depends many factors, usually the die life is 3 times longer than roller shell. As a comparison, if a roller shell lifespan is 1, it should be 3 for die lifespan. We suggest our client that one die should equip with 6 pieces of roller shells.
